Inanna is a multifaceted and royal goddess of the Sumerian pantheon. She is known as the Queen of the Assembly of Deities as well as Queen of Heaven and Earth. She is a triple goddess associated with the morning and evening star (Venus, pictured above), and she rules over war, defense, victory, love, fertility, light, destiny, peace, prosperity, crops, sexual love, civilization, divination, agriculture, weaving and pottery, laws and justice, as well as wisdom and knowledge.
According to several past editions of Llewellyn's Magical Almanac her birthday is celebrated on January 2nd, and the Day of Inanna is August 20th.
